Perfect for iPhone, iPad and the web · Effective October 20, 2026
Perfect has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It doesn't sell or share data with anyone. It never sees your Steam password.
Signing in
You sign in with Steam on Steam's own web page. Steam then tells Perfect's server your Steam ID (the number that identifies your Steam account) and nothing else — not your password, email address or payment details. The server creates your Perfect account from that ID and gives the app a random sign-in key, which is kept in your device's Keychain. The server stores only a scrambled form of the key, so it can recognise it but can't recreate it.
What Perfect shows
For your Steam ID, Perfect's server reads what Steam makes available through its Web API and public Steam Community pages: your profile's name and picture, your online status and the game you're playing, the games you own and their play time, your achievements and when you unlocked them, which add-ons' achievements you can earn, and your wishlist. For your Steam friends whose profiles are public, it reads their name, picture, online status, current game, the games they own and how many achievements they have in each — for the comparisons, standings and activity Perfect shows you. If your Steam profile hides your game details, the server can't read your library, and the app tells you which Steam setting to change.
What the app and website send to the server
- Requests for data. The server logs each one: the IP address it came from, the time, the page asked for and whether it worked. These logs are used to stop abuse and fix problems. They are trimmed as they grow and currently reach back to August 2026.
- Live Activity, if you allow it. A token Apple issues so the server can show the game you're playing on your Lock Screen. Removed when you sign out or turn the Live Activity off.
- What you choose to keep. The achievements you track, and any 1–5 ratings you give a game (shown to others only as an average, once several people have rated it). Removed when you remove them or delete your account.
- Notification settings, if you turn notifications on. The push token Apple issues for Perfect on your device, and which notifications you chose. They are used only to send those notifications, and deleted when Apple reports the token is no longer valid (for example after you delete the app) or when you ask.
What stays on your device
On iPhone and iPad: your sign-in key (in the Keychain), your notification settings, the widgets' latest summaries and a copy of what the app last loaded, so it can show it when the server can't be reached. They are removed when you sign out or delete the app.
On the web: your sign-in key, kept in your browser's storage for this website. Signing out removes it. Your display choices (Steam or Classic style, hiding secret achievements) are kept there too, and never sent anywhere. The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies except game art and icons from Steam.
Other companies involved
- Apple delivers notifications.
- Valve (Steam). Game art, achievement icons and profile pictures load directly from Steam's servers, so Steam sees your device's IP address when they load.
- Cloudflare. The app reaches the server through Cloudflare, which relays the encrypted connection; Cloudflare also hosts this website.
- Guide sites. Links to roadmaps and guides open those sites (such as PowerPyx and Steam Community), which have their own privacy policies.
Backups
The server's database is backed up every night and each backup is kept for 14 days. Only the developer's own achievement history is also copied to a private GitHub repository; other people's data isn't.
Children
Perfect isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Turn notifications or the Live Activity off in Perfect (Profile → Settings) or in iOS Settings. Sign out in the same place. Delete my account and data, also there, removes your Perfect account and everything stored for it from the server straight away: your library, unlocks, friends, wishlist, settings and devices. It doesn't touch your Steam account. Copies in the server's nightly backups expire within 14 days. To have log entries deleted, email us.
